Carrie McCracken
Carrie McCracken es Fundadora y Directora de VN Abroad (¡Viva Nicaragua! en el Extranjero) Centro para la Justicia Social y el Entendimiento Cultural. Después de completar su investigación de maestría en Talamanca, trabajó como profesora de Ciencias Sociales para un instituto de estudios en el extranjero en San José. En 2005, se mudó a Nicaragua y fundó ¡Viva Nicaragua! para apoyar al aprendizaje intercultural y los proyectos de justicia social basados en la comunidad. En 2018, se vio obligada a abandonar su trabajo y su comunidad nicaragüense. Se mudó a Costa Rica, donde comenzó a trabajar con la población inmigrante y solicitante de asilo nicaragüense. Vive con su hijo Gabriel de 13 años en San José. // Carrie McCracken is Founder and Director of VN Abroad (Viva Nicaragua! Abroad) Center for Social Justice and Cultural Understanding. After completing her MA research in Talamanca, she worked as a Social Science professor for a study abroad institute in San Jose. In 2005, she moved to Nicaragua and founded Viva Nicaragua! Center to support cross-cultural learning and community based social justice projects. In 2018, she was forced to abandon her work and Nicaraguan community. She relocated to Costa Rica, where she began working with the Nicaraguan immigrant and asylum-seeking population. She lives with her 13-year-old son, Gabriel, in San José.
